Cherishing the Symphony of Love

Many people always have different meanings and events during Valentine’s Day, but what is Valentine's Day? According to others, it is a celebration during the 14th day of February, which is when lovers express their affection. However, it is also classified as a day where people can show admiration, warmth, and care. Valentine's Day is not only for couples but for all people—friends or family—as long as you can express love. It is the day where people can show their love by giving gifts, cards, and gestures. Valentine's Day is a celebration of love in different forms. 

There are various ideas on how people can celebrate Valentine’s Day: giving them flowers—the popular flower that many people will get to give to others is the red rose, which symbolizes love, fidelity, passion, respect, and admiration; others also give food, especially those sweet desserts like chocolates, cakes, and cupcakes; sometimes they also give a gift that is a t-shirt, watch, phone, and more; if someone is very romantic, they actually give a letter containing a message that is from the heart; also, some celebrate by going outside to eat, and so on.

During this year, the year 2024 Valentine’s Day, it was actually a busy day on training in campus journalism because we were actually cramming for the school paper and preparing for the Division School Press Conference (DSPC). But I still managed to express my love to others by simply greeting them a “happy Valentine’s Day.” There’s actually happenings that happen in school, like the projects of the Supreme Secondary Learners Government (SSLG), where they conducted a booth and also color-coding. And I went to our first class in the classroom to wish my adviser a happy Valentine's Day.

In the common scenario of Valentine's Day, the exchange of material gifts like chocolates, flowers, and other tokens of affection is frequently the center of attention. But it's important to remember that this celebration's essence goes far beyond materialism. Valentine's Day is an expression of love that is truly felt. Even if it is just a simple gesture, if it is thoughtful, that is actually the nicest thing that you can give to others. Always remember that even if you are giving it but it is not willing, then it is not love since love is expressing itself in its purest form.

Moreover, during Valentine's Day, I am also celebrating the birthday of one of my biases on NCT, which is Jaehyun, My Valentine Boy. Actually, he is one of my inspirations. He makes me happy during my breakdowns, and thanks to him, I still manage to be stronger. I really love him with all my heart.

Ultimately, Valentine’s Day is a day where we can express love more with a lot of effort. Whether through romantic or simple initiative, as long as you are willing to do it and not because of fame or because you're just forced. Keep in mind that the core elements of Valentine's Day are the emotions expressed, the feelings of happiness expressed, and the act of recognizing and celebrating the love that embraces us. May this celebration serve as an indicator that love is in all its forms and needs to be treasured and valued.
