Spreading so much cheer: Capturing the magic of Christmas

It’s December again. Is it the month for “I miss your tan skin, your sweet smile” or “Feliz Navidad''—of course it is both! But let me highlight that Christmas here in the Philippines is not just for the month of December but also the Ber months, which consist of September, October, November, and December. The Christmas season feels like a wonderful one because of the Christmas lights that shine around the city and houses, the well-decorated Christmas trees, beautiful parols, and many more. The city and house look more lovely and livelier because of these decorations. These acts really explained that the Filipinos love Christmas, they love this season because they can express their skills of being creative and they really value that Christmas.  However, Christmas is not just all about the gifts or foods; it is also the season that people need to value the love, happiness, joy, and many more in their family or relationships. For me, I also called the Christmas season a bonding time or season for my family since in Christmas there's a lot of experience that you can't feel during the ordinary days, like the feeling when your dad finally comes back home to celebrate with you, your mom, and your little brother, and not only video call.

There are numerous ways to celebrate Yuletide. But for me, celebrating Christmas with your family is the most important; it is a must, and you can also celebrate it with your friends, which is quality time. This way, I can express my gratitude to them for being with me through the ups and downs of my life. I can also express my sincere love to them. As well, I can give them kindness by helping them, which can give them satisfaction and a smile on their faces, even if this is just a small act. This season, too, I can spread the positivity that people should need during Christmas. I can also volunteer to give them presents that they want, which can also make them happy. And also, the Christmas season, or yuletide season, is not just about merry-making and rejoicing about the event. But also, celebrate and rejoice in the birth of our Lord. Don’t forget to attend “Simbang Gabi,” and attending church is also the most important way to celebrate Christmas because this way we can thank our Lord Jesus Christ. Praying for loved ones is also the best gift we can give them.

In a world that can feel divided at times, Christmas serves as an eternal reminder of how similar we are. This season encourages us to be one or unite. So, let us emphasize that we should give one another the value of love, compassion, and community in our lives. Let's be marked by happiness, harmony, goodwill, and meditation.  Always give your best shot during Christmas; in this way, I or we can give other people a smile that has an impact on their lives. Also, citizens are encouraged to share these for the benefit of all. May the spirit of Christmas continue to give us joy, inspire us to be kind, and unite us (family, friends, and country). Merry christmas!
